Reception Details

Canyon Springs Golf Club

We will be having our ceremony and reception at Canyon Springs Golf Course.

Tyler and I actually had one of our high school track banquets there, so we originally were not really considering them (kind of like not wanting to go to the home town college). We thought we might prefer something new to us, so my mom, sister and I went and looked at a few other sites. When we visited here, however, I really loved it. We want an outdoor wedding and Canyon Springs has a waterfall on their 18th hole where you can hold the ceremony. I was also trying to find somewhere that had a kind of "Texas elegance" to it (rustic but still classy), and CS does a very nice job with that atmosphere. The reception will be in the Pavilion, which is a nice sized round room with gray stone walls, wooden beams, many french doors, and a skylight. Plus, there are many many spots on the golf course and near the buildings that will be perfect for pictures. And they even have two resident longhorns, which should be great for OOT guests.

We finally put the deposit down for Sun, Dec 20, 2009, and I'm so excited! It feels so nice to finally have something booked!

Another note as to why we chose CS. The event coordinator, Brenda Rodriguez, is such a pleasure to work with. She replied very promptly to my first email about setting up a time to view the site, and was willing to meet with me that same day. She spent a lot of time telling us about the options and took us out to the waterfall (even though it was windy and like 40 degrees, yuck!). When we finally decided to book the site, we just randomly stopped by, and even though she was busy she took a break to draw up the contract.  We have stopped by a few other times to just look around, and everyone else on the property was very nice too. We even had a random course worker offer to drive us back out to the waterfall! So far we have been extremely pleased with their friendliness and willingness to help, and the prices seem to be very reasonable. Hopefully everything continues to go so smoothly!

I got this pic from their website. We will be using chair covers too except we will have blue sashes on the chairs, and we will be using blue napkins on the tables.
Yes, it was really cold that day. I really hope it's not like that on Dec 20.
The Christmas tree will be set up for us too. We're going to have guests stack presents underneath. The poinsettias are available for us to use, although I'm not sure how many we will use since red is only an accent color.

We're going to set up our sweetheart table in this area. It's directly across from the entrance doors. We're planning on putting up candles on that mantle. Our table will have some vases where the BMs can put their bouquet along with a center one for me to put my bouquet.

Looking back toward the front doors. The hallway on the very right leads to another room (another door to that room can be seen on the left of the above pic) where I will probably get dressed. The staff will then convert that room to the buffet area.
