Mother of the Bride

My mom and I went shopping over the 4th of July weekend and ended up at David's Bridal. She was really hesitant to go there because she was really afraid all she was going to find was "frumpy old lady dresses." She actually found a few that were really cute but she didn't want to pay that much for a dress.

She ended finding a suit skirt type outfit that was really pretty, but when she put it on and showed it to my dad he said it was too "stiff." Guys really just don't know how to stay out of trouble.

So she kept shopping and ended up finally finding something at I think Dillard's. It's actually navy even though it looks black in these pictures. She's going to sew the cleavage area closed a little more, and she made a navy bolero jacket to go with it. It even has a little snowflake brooch on the front. Perfect. :o)

Here's was what I thought was the winner. She would have gotten it in navy.

Here's the runner-up. It's F12732 from DB for $145. Also very pretty, but I think the other one just has a little more detail that makes it perfect.

Bridesmaid's Dresses

We have decided to go with style 6129SN from Alfred Angelo in Indigo. I really liked the way this dress had a side-gathering going on just like my dress. I also think it's a simple enough but also classy enough dress that they might be able to wear it again. The indigo color in person is actually a little darker than in this picture.  They seem to really like it and it's very flattering on all of them.

Their Shoes

I'm just going to let them wear any silver shoes they want. I don't care if they're sandals, closed toe, 3 inch heels, whatever they want.

Accessories

I was going to get them each a rhinestone and/or pearl earring set, but when I went shopping I ended up buying earrings that they can wear other days, not for the wedding. They can just wear any jewelry they like for the wedding.

I might get them all shawls/pashminas in case it's cold out that day.
